CONTROL is added to the water at a rate of 1 gallon for every 200 gallons of stove water. Test water every 60 to 90 days to verify concentration level to compensate for steam off or evaporation.

This treatment solution incorporates a specific component that enables chemical detection and monitoring through visual inspection with a simple sample from the system. When you draw a sample, the water will exhibit various shades of pink (watermelon). Use a white sheet of paper as a background; a strong pink color indicates optimal protection.
Should the sample show only a light pink undertone or if the color has faded since previous samplings, these conditions suggest the need for an additional dose. Note that overdosing is not a critical issue.
This method is straightforward and convenient. Nonetheless, it is still recommended to test the system at least annually, as regular testing ensures proper chemical levels and system protection.

This method directly tests chemical level. This is the testing method that we recommend for maintaining your system with the proper level of rust inhibitor; 500-1000ppm of Nitrite. 500-750ppm is adequate for most fill waters while a residual of 750-1500 gives maximum protection.
